The San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District ("District") seeks to prequalify contractors for a planned project to construct a new two-story Fire Station 31 at 800 San Ramon Valley Boulevard in Danville, California. The District has issued a Request for Pre-qualification of Bidders Commencing with Forthcoming Public Works Bid.

Prequalification will be open from April 9, 2026 to May 15, 2026.

The new facility will have four apparatus bays, an entrance lobby, gym, decontamination room, turnout room, and mechanical and electrical rooms on the ground floor. The second floor will have dormitory rooms, offices, kitchen and dining area, crew office, laundry, restrooms, and a dayroom.

The project requires demolition of the existing station and construction of a new station within the existing site limits. The District will relocate the existing fire department equipment and personnel prior to award of this contract.

The Project is for an Essential Services Building as defined in California Health & Safety Code section 16000 et. seq. and is subject to inspection and reporting during construction as required under Health & Safety Code sections 16017, 16021, and the California Building Code.

The District presently anticipates issuing plans and specifications for competitive bidding in July of 2026, with an anticipated construction duration of approximately 18 months. These dates are preliminary and subject to change.
